5 Common Bugs in North Texas
Fire Ants
These red ants with brown abdomens are invasive and aggressive and if you are new to the North Texas area you may be surprised at how much of an issue these bugs can become both inside and outside. Fire ant tunnels go deep underground and after rain storms you will see them pop up around your yard if left untreated.

Wasps/Mud Daubers
Wasps and Mud Daubers, like most bugs are prevalent in the warmer months. Nests allowed to grow over time will result in these pests pushing inside and even causing damage to the home. Frequent sweeps of the eaves and removal of the pheromones keep your home safe.

Mosquitos
This past summer was a brutal one for mosquitos. Wetter areas and shaded areas will always attract more of these nuisances. We have found that new homes with have been a particular target for mosquitos due to drainage issues in landscaping that hasn't settled. Mosquito season is coming up and Pax Pest has the solutions to minimize the mosquito presence in your area.

Spiders
Black Widows, Brown Recluses, and Wolf Spiders are found throughout the DFW area. They will generally keep out of sight and to themselves but do have an extremely venomous bite if they do feel threatened. The less prey (other bugs) spiders can find around your home the less likely you will ever have to come in contact with one of these frightening pests.

Cockroaches
If a building has a kitchen or food storage area, cockroaches will be near. Full blown infestations only happen when food spills and inspections go unchecked. Not every cockroach siting is evidence of an infestation, but for most homeowners, even 1 is too many.
